Small Town Studio is in Eureka an average of 3-4 days every weekend. So what does a typical day on site look like? Check it out.
7:30 am – Rise and shine! A hearty breakfast is the best way to start the day.
8:30 am – We’re on site! (Apologies to the neighboring businesses and homes… We know that generator is loud!)
9:00 am – There’s a lot of thinking. And some standing. And some more thinking. And some more standing.
10:00 am – How many hits does it take to drive that nail? The record is 5!
11:00 am – Progress is looking great, everyone! But we’re getting a little hungry….
12:00 pm – Lunch time. Finally. Favorites include Sonic, Pizza Hut, and the newly discovered Copper Kettle. #noms
1:00 pm – Work continues. At least it has warmed up a little!
3:30 pm – We’d be lying if we said we didn’t take breaks every now and then…
5:00 pm – The sun is on its way down and it’s time to clean up. (Is this the OSHA approved way to carry a ladder…?)
6:30 pm – Family dinner! The city has been gracious in providing us food, but sometimes you just gotta go for some burgers and beer at Benny’s.
7:30 pm – If the Cats are playing, you know we’ll be watching!
10:00 pm – Bedtime. We know it’s early (for architecture students) but construction wears us out! (The ride home is no different…)
Well there you have it: A day in the life of a member of Small Town Studio. It’s hard work but so worth it to know we’re making a difference in a town we’ve grown to love. Thanks to everyone who has helped us along the way!
